The GLEMS annual golf outing was designated the Don Sparks Memorial Golf Outing by the 2007 GLEMS Planning Committee in January 2007.  This dedication is in memory of Don who was an instructor, exhibitor and committee member of GLEMS as well as the organizer of the golf outing. Don had a 20-year career with Itron as a district sales manager in the Midwest. Don was elected to the GLEMS Hall of Fame in 2001. His energy and dedication to the industry, his customers and this organization misses his enthusiasm and smile.

Golfers are invited to participate in a four-person golf scramble on Sunday, August 4, 2024, prior to GLEMS.  Play will take place at the Stonehedge North Golf Resort in Augusta, Michigan, just minutes from Kalamazoo.  Check-in time is at 11:45am with consecutive tee-off times begin at 12:27pm.  Method of play will be an 18-hole, 4-person scramble.  Golfers need not be assigned to a team beforehand.   Individual golfers are welcome to register and will be matched with a team onsite.  

Each golfer can opt to purchase one foot of “string” for $10.00 (can be used to complete a short shot), and/or one “mulligan” for $10.00 (allowing them to shoot again without incurring a stroke).  String and mulligans may be utilized by any member of the foursome once purchased.  There is a max of four feet of string and four mulligans per team.  Only cash can be accepted for the purchase of string and mulligans.  If you plan to attend, please register online beforehand.  Golf fees are $85 per person (includes 18 holes of golf, with cart and snacks).  See you there!
